If you are on the very low end of budget accommodation you might not want to waste your time looking for cheap hotels or hostels on Hong Kong Island. This Island suites more the luxury holidaymaker. Instead try districts such as Kowloon and the New Territories for cheap places to stay. The good news about the Hong Kong accommodation scene is for travelers and backpackers that just arrived from Paris, London or Rome in Europe or New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the USA and expect Hong Kong to be on the same price level in terms of accommodation. Hong Kong accommodation is cheaper.
